This course will explore key characteristics of autism that may affect Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) users. Participants will learn about communication differences, including multimodal communication and part-time AAC use, regulation needs, and motor planning differences. The course will help professionals and caregivers provide supportive, individualized AAC strategies that respect and empower autistic communicators. Through discussion and practical insights, attendees will gain practical tips and tools to foster meaningful communication and connection for autistic AAC users.
